April is National Autism Awareness Month. We are so proud of our Adaptive Swim program, which has been specially designed to benefit children and adults with a range of special needs, including autism.

Swim lessons are so important for children with autism because drowning is the leading cause of death in children with autism, according to the National Autism Association.
Our adaptive instructors are trained to work with a range of needs including sensory issues and language barriers.
We tailor our swim lessons to fit your goals. Each swimmer and caregiver is unique and has unique goals including:
- Learn water safety
- Make showers easier at home
- Training for the Special Olympics
- Fun activity
We have some great tools available and can use similar routines and activities that you use at home or school to help your swimmer feel comfortable including:
- peg boards
- cue words
- sand timers
- activity schedules
- picture boards
