We are excited to have a very special visitor this year at Sea Otter Swim! His name is Dash and he is the Elf on the Shelf sent by Santa straight from the North Pole to live at the facility!
The Elf on the Shelf® is a special scout elf sent from the North Pole to help Santa Claus manage his naughty and nice lists. When a family adopts an elf and gives it a name, the elf receives its Christmas magic and can fly to the North Pole each night to tell Santa Claus about all of the day’s adventures. Each morning, the elf returns to its family and perches in a different place to watch the fun. There are two simple rules that every child must know when it comes to having an elf. First, an elf cannot be touched; Christmas magic is very fragile and if an elf is touched it may lose that magic and be unable to fly back to the North Pole. Second, an elf cannot speak or move while anyone in the house is awake! An elf’s job is to watch and listen. To watch a cute video about Elf on the Shelf click HERE.
Dash is already here at the facility watching all our good swimmers! Have you seen him swinging on our Thankful Tree? Dash will be hiding and causing all sorts of elf mischief around Sea Otter the 3 weeks we are open in December while he’s watching all of our swimmers, so keep on the look out!!
When the kids spot Dash the Elf around Sea Otter they can come into the office and tell the office girl or the deckhand where they spotted him and they will get a small Candy Cane!!
Parents, you are encouraged to take a photo of Dash after your kids have found him and share on Instagram. When you share the photo make sure to tag @seaotterswim and use the hashtags #elfontheshelf and #founddash. After each week Dash will select his favorite photo of himself to include in his present he is making for Santa and will give the photographer a special Christmas Magic Surprise!!
