Private Lesson
  • Ages 4 months and up
  • Offered in 20 or 30 minutes
  • Swim once a week
  • Lesson ratio 1:1

For swimmers who have graduated Parent Tot lessons, or for parents who aren’t interested in getting in the water, we recommend Private Lessons. One-on-one instruction is the most effective way for swimmers to progress and increase their swim skills. Our instructors build trust while teaching respect for the water. Your swimmer will be taken out of their comfort zone in a loving, nurturing way.

Instructors will focus on safety skills such as waiting for permission to enter the water, holding onto the wall, being able to climb out of the pool independently, back floating, elementary backstroke, returning to the wall after a water entry, and rolling over to back float. Children will learn to swim having fun along the way!

Semi-Private Lesson
  • Ages 4 to 16 years
  • 30 minutes
  • Swim once a week
  • Lesson ratio 2:1

This class is perfect for children who are socially motivated, are not too easily distracted, and enjoy the water. We match swimmers with similar abilities and age. Instructors will focus on keeping both swimmers engaged throughout the lesson. Swimmers will have the opportunity to practice drills independently while waiting their turn. If a swimmer graduates out of the class in ability, we will work to match them in the next level semi class.

Benefits of this Class
Children can learn quicker by watching a peer demonstrate a skill at the same time the instructor is explaining it.

Those who are competitive by nature tend to become more focused when they have someone to compete with. Swimming with a friend can make it more fun and competitive.

Private Lesson
  • Ages 4 months to adult
  • Offered in 20 or 30 minutes
  • Swim once a week
  • Lesson ratio 1:1

This class is perfect for the swimmer who retains more from one-on-one instruction, is easily distracted, or is fearful of the water. Individual instruction provides a personalized lesson plan and progression. During the 20 or 30-minute lesson, the instructor will focus on safety skills, swim techniques, and encourage the love of water.

If your swimmer is used to being in the water with a life jacket, water wings, or other floatation device we recommend starting them in a private lesson. Often with these devices, children have developed a false sense of security and tend to act impulsively in the water. They have not learned the natural consequences of water. After the swimmer has learned basic safety skills then they can transition into a semi-private class.

Benefits of this Class

  • More practice time.
  • If child is fearful, the instructor is able to keep them moving and distracted.
  • Children can be less anxious with one-one-one attention.
  • Lessons are more individualized.
