JOB DESCRIPTION:
The facility coordinator/deckhand is responsible for maintaining the pool and facility throughout the day, as well as assisting customers, swim instructors, and management with additional tasks and projects.
Examples of Duties (including but not limited to):
- Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable facility
- Maintain appropriate pool chemistry and ensure proper functioning of pool equipment
- Maintain appropriate temperature in tent
- Keep pool deck, parking lot, bathrooms, office, Otter Shop, equipment room, and observation areas clean and stockedÂ
- Maintain appropriate lighting throughout facility
- Take and maintain a stocked inventory of pool chemicals, paper goods, retail items, and cleaning supplies
- Respond to situations that threaten cleanliness or safety of the pool or facility
- Provide customers with excellent service and a high-quality experience
- Answer customer questions where appropriate
- Give tours of facility
- Greet families and build relationships with customers
- Act as a liaison between office and teaching staff
- Complete special job functions and projects as needed
- Other duties as required
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to display a professional, friendly, courteous, respectful, and highly-motivated workplace attitude
- Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy
- Ability to effectively manage time
- Ability to routinely follow written and verbal instructions, as well as work independently
- Ability to display attention to detail and organization skills
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
- Ability to understand basic chemistry
- Ability to perform in a fast-paced work environment and multi-task
- Ability to make minor repairs
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
- High school diploma or equivalent (desirable, not required)
- Previous customer service experience (desirable, not required)
- Experience teaching swim lessons or working in a swim environment (desirable, not required)
- Experience with pool maintenance (desirable, not required)
- CPR and First Aid certification (required, must be obtained within 60 days of hire)
