We are excited to announce that Sea Otter Swim Lessons is under new ownership. Phil and Dana Percival purchased Sea Otter and are now the proud owners of our swim school.

Dana has been the general manager of Sea Otter for 8 years and is involved with all aspects of the business. Phil has been managing the facility and maintenance for the past several months and taught lessons as an instructor several years ago. Their two children learned to swim here as well.

The Percivals are well connected in the Loomis community and have lived here for 13 years. Dana coached water polo at Del Oro High School for nine years, and Phil has coached swim and water polo at Del Oro for more than 10 years.

“We love getting to see the whole progression of our program, from little ones learning important safety skills and feeling comfortable in the water in lessons, to older swimmers developing the skills to be successful in sports such as swim team with the Loomis Basin Dolphins and the high school swimming and water polo programs,” Phil said. “We have even had the opportunity to watch former Sea Otter swimmers in the Olympics and hire former Sea Otter swimmers as our instructors. To see the whole transition of how learning to swim changes people’s lives is why we love what we do.”

Since Dana has been managing Sea Otter for the past several years, you won’t see many changes under the new ownership. You will still receive the same high-quality swim lessons that you’ve come to expect from us. They are thrilled to take on the ownership and make Sea Otter an even better place for individuals to learn to swim and develop their skills.

“We are excited to continue to provide a great service to the community and be a part of so many families’ lives. We really couldn’t do it without our wonderful staff and look forward to working with them to make Sea Otter a great place to learn to swim,” Dana said.

You’ve probably already seen them around, so make sure to congratulate them when you see them next!
